While I've tried my hand at many different mediums of art, my primary mode has always been one of my earliest: drawing with pencil on paper.

As a kid, I'd draw at almost every opportunity. I would (and still tend to) doodle on the margins of my school agendas and assignments. In elementary school, when recess was canceled by poor weather and classes would stay in for free time, a few of my friends and I would choose to gather our desks together and spend the whole time drawing on scrap paper. The results could range from an original creation like a short comic, to attempts at depicting a character, object or scene, to each person’s interpretation of an agreed-upon prompt. I drew outside of school, too. I have 5 or so cardboard boxes in my closet filled to the brims partially with all the artwork I’ve kept over the years.

I've particularly always loved and been inspired by animated works. I was raised on the cartoons and animated movies of the early 2000s to the 2010s, and my interest in the medium has sustained, especially via more mature and adult-oriented projects. Many of my personal favorite professional artists are creators or participants of animated series. Others have contributed to favorite graphic novel series (Bone, Locke & Key, The Adventures of Tintin) and magazines (MAD).

The world of digital creation has sorely only become familiar to me within the past couple years. Throughout my childhood I never seriously pursued a device or a substantial program to create digital art, accepting the traditional tools I had in droves. I was first introduced to Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in high school, but we didn't have access outside of class. Finally, college design classes and the resources for a compatible personal device have allowed me to become experienced in the programs.
